I'm am 25 years old and have been diagnosed with AVN of my left talus after a head on car accident on July 17,2008. I was diving home and on the off ramp a Jeep came over the median and hit my Acura head on driver side. The car looked worse than I did. I am the luckiest girl on the planet. The accident left me with broken tibia and fibula of my right leg and what was thought to be a sprained left ankle. After many CAT scans and X-rays two doctors were debating about what to do with my left foot. I was not aware of the situation because the pain meds took their toll on me. I do not have a high pain tolerance and have never broken a bone until the day of the accident. After my first surgery on my right leg the doctor tried to straighten out my talus in my left foot, two days later he placed a screw through my talus and told me that we will have to wait for the outcome.

After months and months of therapy and the use of a portable ultrasound machine to help my bones fuse together my right leg healed,but my left did not. I was in more pain than ever and didn't know what was wrong.

I didn't find out the true diagnosis of my left foot until Feb 2009, I was devastated and my orthopedic surgeon at the time told me that I had to do my own research to find a doctor who could help me.
I was left in the dark with no one to help me so I turned to the internet and found some information about doctors in other countries. I am looking for as much information as possible, anything will help seriously! I am young and I don't want to be in pain for the rest of my life!
