I don't think my core decompression worked

I'm new to this community, and am very grateful to have a sounding board with people who have gone through similar experiences.

I'm 22-years-old, have had a partial left shoulder replacement and a core decompression in my right shoulder, both due to AVN. I was diagnosed with AVN in my hips this past April, and had a bilateral hip core decompression at the beginning of June.

I'm still quite often in pain, and not pain from the surgery. I know that the core decompression worked on my shoulder, but with the way I'm feeling, I'm not holding out much hope for my hips.

I guess what I want to know is if anyone else has had a failed core decompression, and what their process was like.

Thanks.

Hope you're wrong and it did work.

Kind of like you said, it's nice to be able to discuss similar problems. You had your CD earlier than me, as mine was June 18th. Although I'm still on crutches, as my Doc wants me to go the full 8 weeks, I do feel as though much of the pain has subsided. It's hard for me to imagine having both hips done at once. It's hard as hell to get around on crutches with one hip out of service, so I can't even imagine what you're having to deal with. Since I do have AVN in both hips, I'm going to have to go through this process again in the future.Hope that things start to improve for you very soon. As I know that there are different surgical techniques, bone grafts and the like, I'm not sure what your Doc did for you, but I hope it does come out. At only 22, you need to have a chance to get your mobility back. If the CD's don't work, and again, I hope that they do, there are some much better options for THA than existed even a few years ago. Even at 51 I don't want to consider that option, but reality sets in and it is what it is. In my case, a bad reaction to a single dosepak of steroids set me on my path to AVN. Chances are at your age that you may be dealing with results from the same, as it's usually steroid related when you are hit with AVN at such an early age. Good luck with the outcome and let me know how you progress, as I will do the same. Although I'm optimistic, I won't really know how things are until I start putting weight on the hip, and that's still a few weeks away. Again, Good luck and let me know how you come out.
