AVN and Childbirth?

 A Baltimore television station has reported a story on their website about a woman who developed Avascular Necrosis/Osteonecrosis right after she had a baby. The new mother initially blamed groin area pain as associated with recent labor. However, she was eventually diagnosed with AVN in both hips.

The article does not define the suspected cause of the woman's AVN. The only stated fact is that the woman developed the pain following childbirth. Still, this does raise an interesting question: could the stresses of childbirth be another potential cause of AVN of the hip? Is this a possible correlation that warrants further research?
